Article Processing Charge (APC) Policy – Journal of Architectural and Engineering Research (JAER)

JAER publishes all articles as fully open access, ensuring that research is freely available and can be widely reused, provided appropriate credit is given to the authors. All published articles are distributed under a Creative Commons license.

To support the costs associated with high-quality open access publication, a one-time Article Processing Charge (APC) is applied to all manuscripts accepted for publication. This APC covers the costs of managing the peer review process, editorial oversight, professional production of articles in various formats (PDF, XML, etc.), and the broad dissemination of published work through multiple platforms and indexing services. Additionally, it supports digital preservation, content security, and the ongoing development of innovative publishing technologies to enhance accessibility and discoverability.

There are no fees for submitting a manuscript, and no charges are applied to articles that are not accepted for publication. The APC does not vary based on article length, number of figures, or supplementary files. Certain types of content, such as editorials, corrections, retractions, and comments, are published free of charge.

Please note that, effective December 22, 2025, all manuscripts accepted on or after this date for publication in the Journal of Architectural and Engineering Research will be subject to a publication fee of € 1000 (for residents of the RA—the Armenian dram equivalent to 1000 euros). Payment can be made via credit card or bank transfer. Additional taxes or bank charges may apply depending on the author’s location.

JAER remains committed to maintaining the integrity, accessibility, and longevity of the scholarly record, ensuring that published research continues to inform and inspire future advancements in the fields of architecture and engineering.
